Dr. Camden Whitaker
Clinical Associate Professor-Orthopaedic Residency Program, University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita Campus
Dr. Whitaker serves as Clinical Associate Professor on the Orthopaedic Surgery Faculty for the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He also trains residents in cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine procedures. In addition he serves on the Orthopaedic Executive Committee for HCA Wesley Medical Center.
Dr. Whitaker received his MD from the University Kansas in 1998, completed his residency at the University of University of Kansas School of Medicine in 2003, and two spine fellowships at both the Texas Back Institute in 2003-2004 and then at the Rothman Spine Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in 2004. He specializes in all areas of the spine-cervical, thoracic, and lumbar and is dedicated to towards assisting patients in their desire to regain activity and function, while decreasing pain associated with spinal deformities.
Dr. Whitaker finds new technologies and research exciting and in fact has written seventeen journal publications, nine book chapters, a book publication: Pocket Spine, twenty-five podium/poster presentations all ranging from the percutaneous pedicle screw placement to total disc replacement. Dr. Whitaker also speaks at lectures regularly across the nation.
Advancing technologies in spine care has led Dr. Whitaker to be appointed to American Orthopedic Spine International Faculty, a liaison for BCBS Orthopedic Committee, Research and Publications Committee for the Kansas University Medical Center Orthopaedic Residency Program, North American Spine Society-member, Course Director and Speaker at twelve different spine courses, and Candidate member of the Scoliosis Research Society.
